TANGIBLE DATA
Workshop presented at Ahmedabad, India in January 2018 as part of the Maker Fest Event.
As part of the Lady Tech Guild, a collective of professional women working in the STEAM field, I participated in MakerFest Ahmedabad, where I shared my work connecting weaving and storytelling. Also, I facilitated a workshop called “Tangible Data”: A workshop about how to translate qualitative data into physical and tangible pieces. We worked with individual and collective narratives to design patterns that could then be translated into a physical weaving piece. We told and recorded stories (stories about things people care, social stories, cultural stores), analyzed that audio using Javascript and translated that data into physical weaving pieces’ people could take home.
